Blacksmithing 101 | 6-9pm MONDAY, May 18th to June 22nd

Beginning Blacksmithing

This six-week course introduces the old world craft of blacksmithing. Here, the student learns the fundamentals of the trade: Shaping, forming, tapering, flattening, twisting and punching. Students will put these basics into practice by first hammering a traditional wall hook and then creating another small item of their choice (i.e. fire poker, knife). This class is the perfect introduction for those with an interest in moving metal or those who have merely dabbled in the past. Class meets once a week for six consecutive weeks, a total of six classes per session.
